Meet the Candidate

Juan Carrillo

Thanks to your support, Juan was elected to represent California’s new 39th Latino Majority Assembly District in November of 2022.

Before serving the High Desert in the Assembly, Juan was the Antelope Valley’s only elected Democratic councilmember. On the Palmdale City Council, he fought to expand affordable housing, address the homelessness crisis, increase green space, and support local small businesses as they recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

A former member of the Palmdale School Board, Juan has made equal, quality education, and affordable community college a reality for thousands of Antelope Valley students.

He earned his Associate’s Degree in Architecture from College of the Desert, Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from California State Polytechnic University Pomona, and Master’s Degree in Public Administration from California State University Northridge. Before entering public office, Carrillo served as a city planner — 10 years of which were with the City of Palmdale.
